Floor Sensor Mats for the Elderly – Wireless Pressure Mat Alarm – Dementia Care

Floor sensor mats for the elderly – Mat-On-Guard care at home is ideal to use with someone with dementia, the elderly,  person with special needs, any patient who is being supported at home by a carer or family member. Mat-On-Guard is a Wireless Pressure Mat sensor complete with chime receivers and it forms an effective monitoring system that helps the carer ensure the safety of a patient, and helps to manage the risk of falls or wandering of patients with Dementia Care.

There is no installation required. Simply connect the Sensor Mat to the small transmitter device supplied, and use the chosen chime receiver unit.

Mat-On- Guard Floor Sensor Mats for the elderly should be placed on the floor in a convenient spot, at the base of the bed or in front of a chair. The mat is not suitable for use on a bed or on a chair. The chime receiver units can be used all around the house. The Mat will be activated and the chime will sound when the patient steps out of bed. When pressure is applied on the pressure mat, the chime on the receiver monitor unit will be activated and alert a nearby carer that the patient is out of bed, or may be wandering.

There are choices of chime receiver monitor units available. Although the most popular choice is to have both the portable and the plug-in, but you may select a product with either. Also up to four additional receivers can be ordered, either plug-in or portable. See the Product Accessories section on our website.

A special grip mat is now included with each product to prevent any slipping of the mat. The grip mat prevents the electronic mat from moving when it is stepped on.  The grip mat should be placed under the sensor mat.

Protective Carpeted Cover Mats of four different colours are also available to purchase for the protection of the electronic pressure mat and to securely hold it onto the floor. You may consider ordering the specifically designed ones available on our website or use one you may already have.  The electronic pressure mat must be covered by a cover mat at all times when being used.  See the Product Accessories section on our website.
