They are ideal for use in private homes, care homes or even hospitals, as a supplementary alert aid for supporting people with dementia, Alzheimer’s or anyone needing extra monitoring and safety reassurance.

• Single Exit: One Mat on Guard mat is placed alongside a bed or in a doorway.
• Double Exit: Two Mat on Guard mats are included, so you can monitor both sides of a bed or two separate exits.

• Firstly choose a Single Exit system or a Double Exit system, depending on the position of the bed or how many entrances you wish to cover.
• Secondly, select whether you want (i) a portable receiver (IP 100 range), (ii) a plug-in receiver (IP200 range) or (iii) both (IP300 range).
• Thirdly, select whether you want a cover mat over the pressure sensor mat (which is highly recommended for protection of the sensor mat).

A cover mat hides and protects the pressure sensor from wear and tear, making it more discreet and comfortable. You can choose from four colours to suit your setting (gold, blue, grey or red).

We strongly recommend that a cover mat is always used to ensure the pressure sensor is not damaged.

• IP100 Portable Receiver – battery powered, can be carried around.
• IP200 Plug-in Receiver – static receiver, which plugs directly into a wall socket.
• IP300 Portable & Plug-in Receiver – combines both options for maximum flexibility, linked to one pressure sensor matt.
• All 3 options above come as single exit (1 sensor mat) or double exit (2 mats) options.

When pressure is applied, the mat sends a wireless signal from the transmitter to the receiver. The receiver then sounds an alarm (or chime), alerting caregivers immediately.

Yes. Each kit is supplied with full instructions. Simply place the mat in the required location, connect the transmitter (by inserting the battery provided and closing the cover plate) and the system should start working.  Each mat has been pre-programmed to work right out of the box.

Please do these checks:

1. Replace the battery in the pressure mat Transmitter. This is the small white box with a 12v battery.  Each Mat on Guard mat should come with up to 10 replacement batteries, which should last for between 3-4 weeks on average, depending on the amount of usage.   

We find this is the most common issue, as often a carer may not realise that they are standing on the mat themselves every day or something else (like a zimmer frame) is touching the mat, causing the battery to drain.

2. If using a portable received (IP100 or IP300), please replace the AAA battery in the portable Receiver.

3. Finally, you may need to re-pair the pressure mat Transmitter with the Receiver.

Depending on which model you bought, This might need to be done with either the portable or plug-in receivers.

Follow the steps below to do this:

Portable receiver:

1. Check and install the AAA batteries in the portable receiver.
2. Press and hold down the Chime selection (top button/music symbol) switch found at the back of the portable chime receiver. Almost immediately you will a chime. Wait for approximately 3 seconds you will hear “beep beep” then release this button.
3. Press or step anywhere on to the Mat once and you will hear another “beep”. Wait for approximately 10 seconds for another “beep beep”.
4. The pressure mat is now live and will sound the alert. You have successfully completed the re-pairing.
5. Press or step on to the pressure mat to test.

Plug in receiver set up:

1. Plug in the plug-in chime receiver to your chosen socket.
2. On the plug in chime receiver press and hold the central replay button for approximately 5 seconds. A single beep with flashing blue lights will activate, quickly followed by double beep.

3. The unit is now in pairing mode for 15 seconds.
4. Press or step once onto the Pressure sensor mat. A single beep will be heard. Wait for approximately 10 seconds. A double beep will be heard from the plug in chime receiver.
5. You have successfully completed the re-pairing.
6. Press or step on to the pressure mat to test.

If this is unsuccessful, please re-peat the above steps.

If the Plug-in receiver is moved or if the Portable receiver’s batteries are changed in the future,  this can sometimes lead to a loss of pairing, in which case, please follow the steps above.

• The mat and transmitter (little white box connected to the mat) use batteries. We normally supply up to 10 batteries (12V) with each mat.   On average, each battery should last for between 3-4 weeks, depending on the amount of usage.

• The receivers are either battery powered (portable, with a AAA battery) or mains powered (plug-in), depending on the model you choose.  The IP100 is portable and battery powered and the IP200 is plug-in.  The IP300 has both.

Yes. The mats are lightweight and can easily be repositioned to a bed, chair, or doorway as required.

You can also purchase a second mat from our website, to connect to the system if required.

Yes. They are designed for use with a protective grip mat beneath and are built to be robust, wipe-clean, and safe for everyday use. 

Although fairly robust and durable, as the pressure mat contains thin foil connectors inside, it should not be firmly folded or bent, to avoid damaging these connectors.

Wipe down the mat and cover with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not submerge the mat in water. 

Our mats are all hygienically cleaned and sanitised before being boxed.

Yes, all Mat On Guard pressure mats come with a standard manufacturer’s warranty of 6 months.  Please see our Terms & Conditions for full details.
